Dear Tribal Leaders and Representatives,
In follow up to Anecita Agustinez’s letter and email regarding the Delta Conveyance Design and Construction Authority (DCA) and its establishment of the Delta Conveyance Stakeholder Engagement Committee (SEC), I am writing to invite you to a Tribal Engagement Committee meeting in an effort to create a forum for information sharing and discussion that is strictly amongst California Tribes. My hope is that all tribes that are interested in, concerned with, and/or potentially impacted by the Delta Conveyance project, will join us for a robust conversation.
I, along with Jesus Tarango, Vice-Chairman of Wilton Rancheria, were selected as Tribal Representatives with seats on the SEC. As such, we want to act as conduits of information from the SEC meetings to tribes, as well as representatives of concerned tribes to the SEC. The Delta Conveyance Project is moving forward and it is vital that tribal presence is firmly established and that our voices are heard throughout the many stages of the project. I’ve included a link to pertinent DCA and SEC information below. There, you will find meeting summaries, notes and project presentations to date. Please note that this meeting in no way takes the place of each tribe’s right to AB 52 Consultation. If you have questions about AB 52 or AB 52 Consultation in regards to the project, please contact Anecita Agustinez, Tribal Policy Advisor for the Department of Water Resources, at email@example.com .
We hope you can join us on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 at 10 am for the first Tribal Engagement Committee meeting. We will meet at the Department of Water Resources West Sacramento location at: 3500 Industrial Blvd, Room 106, West Sacramento, CA 95691. An agenda is being developed and is forthcoming. In the meantime, if you plan to attend the meeting, please RSVP to Krystal Moreno at firstname.lastname@example.org or (530) 698-1557.
Thank you for your time and please let us know if you have any questions.
