Attached are two documents regarding the collapse of red abalone and the supporting ocean system.
The first is a fact sheet to assist in communicating the need for Tribes to get involved in state efforts to manage abalone, and work towards recovery. These efforts may not be successful without Tribal leadership and involvement.
The process for The Red Abalone Fish Management Plan, it is available here online. This report will be discussed at the Tuesday, March 17, 2020 MRC meeting; information is here. This plan will be refined again following this meeting and then will go before the Fish and Game Commission. Please consider providing comments as soon as possible.
The second attachment is a draft letter with language for your consideration in drafting comments.
